Education


Education projects primarily consists of helping institutions to carry out their mission, whether it is educating poor children in conventional schools by contributing financial assistance to provide scholarships, imparting training in schools of music (classical Indian vocal and instrumental music),and dance (South Indian forms of dance such as bharatha naatyam and kuchipudi naatya), computer training schools etc.

In addition, Bharathi Theertha supports students belonging to Rotaract Clubs and Engineers Without Border-India Chapter Clubs registered in engineering and other colleges.   Bharathi Theertha  promotes fellowship among students to promote awareness on various science and engineering aspects in the fields of environmental science and engineering and fields that provide opportunities for helping community development projects in rural areas of India.

Bharathi Theertha also promotes environmental education by organizing rallies, marches etc., by students.  The objective of such ralllies and marches is for the students to promote awareness among common masses about the importance of water conservation, using wastes as resources, and  recycling and reusing of treated wastes and wastwater.

 

Education – Computer Training Center


A computer training center was established in the same premises where Tyagaraja Sangeetha Nritya Kalaniketan is located. Most of the students of this music school do not have access to computers at their home. Bharathi Theertha took the initiative of establishing a free computer training school to these children with a grant obtained from the Rotary Club of Naperville, IL USA. Collaborations and Awareness Campaigns


Bharathi Theertha associates and collaborates with other nonprofit and service organizations to collaborate, organize, and participate in various activities.  These activities include include the following:

  1. Organize rallies, walks, seminars, etc. to inform and create awareness among not only students studying at various schools, colleges, and universities Collaborate with Rotaract and Engineers Without Borders – India Chapter students in their extracurricular activities related to the development of villages and semi-urban, and slum areas

  2. Honor scholars, who have can inspire student to further their talents

  3. Arrange visits of accomplished scholars, who can inspire and motivate students to excel in their educational pursuits.

Bharathi Theertha believes that everyone deserves an education.  To the extent possible, it strives to offer scholarships to deserving poor students based on their need.

Bharathi Theertha administered scholarships that were offered  by Nobel Systems, San Bernadino, CA to a few deserving students that studied at  the rural polytechnic institute in Vizianagaram, A.P. Continue reading Education – Scholarships
